This Month'sFavorite Place to Dine at is The Lighthouse Bistro in Kilauea! I met some friend's there for dinner last night and the atmosphere and food was wonderful. The menu has a something for everyone from a delicious all you can eat pasta bar with a variety of delicious sauces to a gourmet Macadamian Nut Crusted Fish of your choice with perfectly sauteed veggies and a side of garlic mashed potatoes. Is your mouth watering yet? The bar is a place you can just hang at and enjoy the ambience of seductive live music. It's a great spot for a romantic honeymoon dinner but is also kid friendly and can accomadate a large party. Be sure to make reservations for a party of 6 or more. This month's Favorite Shopping Experience is Backdoor located in Ching Young Center behind Paradise Cafe. This store is sooooo much fun. They carry gorgeous designer wear like Johnny Was Here, Susana Monaco and C&C California. There's also a wonderful assortment of women's shoes that are "to die for". If love Gucci sunglasses, look no further...they've got em! The men's section has the best surf shorts and Bruce and Andy Iron's inspired shirts to Tommy Bahama designs. Basically they have the latest surfwear available to all you sun seeking men. It's a high class Surf Shop that also carries household names from Roxy to Billabong. The kid's section is adorable and also carries the trendiest clothing for your little one. There's a great assortment of super hot skateboards and wave shredding surfboards designed by some of the hottest shapers in the world. When celebrities visit the North Shore of Kauai, this is where they shop! The staff and owners Charlie Cowden and Kathy and Karlos DeTreaux are very friendly and will answer any questions you have. Artist of the Month
There certainly is something very special about Mary. Living on the North Shore of Kauai allows this incredible photographer to capture the majesty beauty of the island. She has a touch for nature and creates an amazing transformation within the picture itself. Her close range shots of flowers resemble other aspects of nature like a red hibiscus that may appear to be a mountain range. A lightly colored flower appears to be that of human veins or ocean waves and sand dunes. It's like magic. Her latest project is way for you to enjoy a piece of Hawaii set to beautiful music by Danny Couch. The 3 minute CD is a slide show displaying Mary's photography throughout the island. Whether you're getting ready to travel here to the island's or returning home, you'll want this CD to enjoy over and over again.
